Real-World Learning.
Real-World Financial Confidence.
JA Financial Literacy™gives Tennessee educators a free, engaging, standards-aligned half-credit course that prepares students to build real-world decision-making skills and confidence for what’s next.
Why This Course?
While Tennessee adopted a high school financial literacy requirement more than a decade ago, the state has continued to rank at the bottom of key indicators, including the 3rd highest number of personal bankruptcies per capita.
JA Financial Literacy is a new, ready-to-teach course that meets the state mandate and is now available to schools for free, thanks to support from Governor Lee and the General Assembly.
The Challenge
Educators need a high-quality financial literacy program that is engaging, immediately relevant to students’ lives outside the classroom, and easy to implement with consistency across the state.
The Solution
JA Financial Literacy provides student-centered, real-world instruction through a structured, proven approach that meets state graduation requirements and supports educators every step of the way.
The Impact
Together, educators and JA help Tennessee students develop the knowledge, confidence, and skills to graduate financially confident and career ready, driving economic mobility and strengthening our state’s workforce.
